The Consolidated Skilled Occupation List was valid until April 19, 2017. This was known as CSOL. Later, the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) replaced this list.
The Skilled Occupation List was the list that has now been revised as the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skill List (MLTSSL).
Here are the reasons:
- The Occupation Lists of Australia are the lists of high demand occupations in the country.
- The government authorities coordinate with the regional labour markets, find out the needs of the employers in the country, and then publish these lists.
- The skilled workers need to have their occupation in these lists to be able to migrate to Australia under the skilled worker category.
- Their education and experience should be relevant to the occupations in the lists.
- In order to get considered, they can choose the occupation that is at least closer to their previous work profile. This improves the chances of migration to a better extent.
- The Australian Authorities update the lists of skills from time to time.
- Recently, they have come up with a new list and norms for immigration.
- The regulations are going to be more stringent than before.
- But still, there are more than 400 occupations on the list.
- The country draws policies as per the needs of the skilled workers in industries and the availability of human resources.
- These norms are governed with a clear goal of improving the Australian economy
