After a month-long pause, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has held its first Express Entry draw, inviting 3,200 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 531 to apply for permanent residence.

This is the first all-program draw since August 15, when 4,300 candidates were invited. IRCC has not explained the pause in draws, but the resumption of all-program draws is good news for candidates who have been waiting for an opportunity to apply for permanent residence.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is a system that IRCC uses to manage applications from skilled workers who want to immigrate to Canada. Candidates are ranked based on their CRS score, which takes into account factors such as age, education, work experience, and language skills. The highest-ranked candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence.

If you are an Express Entry candidate, the resumption of all-program draws means that you have another chance to be invited to apply for permanent residence. Make sure your profile is up-to-date and complete, and that you have a high CRS score to improve your chances of being invited.
