The Northwest Territories’ Provincial Nominee Program (NTNP) offers a pathway for individuals with sought-after skills and experience to obtain a Provincial Nomination Certificate. This certificate enables them to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence, opening doors to new opportunities in the Northwest Territories.
Northwest Territories Immigration Streams
The NTNP operates through two programs, each catering to different categories of applicants. One of these programs consists of three streams, while the other program focuses on business immigration.

a. Express Entry System for Skilled Workers
The Express Entry Stream of the NTNP is designed to nominate candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the Skilled Worker stream of the Northwest Territories. Foreign nationals who have been accepted into the federal Express Entry pool may have the opportunity to apply for this Express Entry Stream for Skilled Workers.
b. Skilled Worker
The Skilled Worker Stream of the NTNP allows the Government of Northwest Territories to nominate individuals who have received a job offer for a skilled position from an employer in the Northwest Territories. Applicants must have already worked in this position in the Northwest Territories for a minimum of six months.
c. Entry Level/Semi-Skilled Occupations
The Entry Level/Semi-Skilled Occupations Stream of the NTNP enables the Government of Northwest Territories to assist employers in filling shortages for entry-level jobs when suitable Canadian candidates cannot be found locally or nationally. Applicants must have already worked in the specified position in the Northwest Territories for a minimum of six months.
Northwest Territories Business Immigration Program
a. Business Stream
The Business Stream of the NTNP is tailored for foreign nationals who demonstrate the ability to establish, acquire, or invest in an existing business in the Northwest Territories. This business should provide or have the potential to provide economic benefits to the Territory and generate employment opportunities.
