Canada conducted its most recent Express Entry draw on June 8, 2023, and the results are as follows:
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has successfully concluded its 14th round of invitations for Express Entry this year, granting 4,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR) in Canada. This draw marks the second consecutive occasion where IRCC has issued 4,800 ITAs. It is worth noting that this is the first draw conducted by IRCC since the official announcement last week that category-based Express Entry draws are expected to commence later this summer.
In today’s draw, applicants from all three Express Entry programs were considered for an ITA. These programs include the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Candidates who were fortunate enough to receive an ITA in this draw possessed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 486. This cut-off score is two points lower than the previous all-program draw held on May 24, 2023, where the minimum CRS score was 488.
For individuals who did not receive an ITA in this draw, it is anticipated that IRCC will issue the next round of invitations in two weeks.
About Express Entry
Express Entry is Canada’s primary federal immigration system that manages applications from three programs: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). These programs play a crucial role in attracting skilled foreign workers who contribute to Canada’s economic and social development. In return, successful applicants are granted permanent residence, granting them the same rights and freedoms as Canadian-born citizens.
To begin the process of becoming a Canadian permanent resident through Express Entry, candidates need to assess their eligibility for at least one of the three programs. Once deemed eligible, they can create an online profile on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website. This profile places them in a candidate pool for potential selection in future Express Entry draws.
Candidates must patiently await the next round of invitations, which typically occur every two weeks. During these draws, candidates in the pool with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores above the specified cut-off score will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.
Upon receiving an ITA, candidates transition from being an Express Entry candidate to an Express Entry applicant. They then have 60 days to submit an electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) to IRCC, marking a significant step forward in their immigration journey.
